As of May 29, budget airline Vietjet Air will begin operating a HCM City-Bali air route with five return flights per week from the Indonesian city with a flight time of four hours.

The flights will be scheduled to depart from HCM City at 8:05 and arrive in Bali at 13:05 (local time) while return flights will leave Bali at 14:05 (local time) and land in HCM City at 17:05. The first direct air route from Vietnam to Bali will help passengers save time on transit in Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok.

Furthermore, budget carrier Jetstar Pacific will put on flights connecting Da Nang to Phu Quoc and Thanh Hoa on May 24 and 25 respectively with two flights per week.

On May 10, Vietnam’s newest airline Bamboo Airways is set to begin operating three new air routes from Hai Phong to Quy Nhon, HCM City, and Can Tho, with a return flight each day.

Between May 2 and May 16 passengers will be able to purchase low-cost tickets at a price of VND200,000, excluding taxes and fees. This offer is applicable to economy class tickets departing between May 10 and May 16.

The airline has also offered a discount of between 15 per cent to 39 per cent on business class fares from May 2 to July 31 on several routes such as Hanoi-Phu Quoc, Hanoi-Can Tho, Hanoi-HCM City, and HCM City-Quy Nhon.

Bamboo Airways also launched the first flight connecting Hanoi with Incheon in the Republic of Korea on April 25. The airline also started operating flights to Taiwan from several cities in Vietnam such as Da Nang and Hanoi.

Carrying on the trend, Air Asia also opened a new direct air route from Can Tho to Bangkok, Thailand, beginning from May 2. The route will have with three flights per day operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

With the new service, Can Tho has become the fifth city in Vietnam connected with Bangkok. A one-way ticket on AirAsia’s direct air service is priced from VND750,000, including taxes and fees.

In addition to the Can Tho route, on May 1, the airline also opened a Nha Trang-Bangkok air route with one-way tickets on sale for the promotional price of VND810,000, including taxes and fees, for passengers booking tickets between May 1 and May 5.

Ticketing agents in Hanoi are offering low-cost tickets on several routes from Hanoi to Vinh, Hue, and Da Nang in May at a price ranging between VND200,000 and VND700,000, excluding taxes and fees.

Tickets to Nha Trang, Da Lat, and Phu Quoc have been booked by many passengers at the price of between VND1.2 million and VND1.6 million, excluding taxes and fees.
