South Korea will provide 5 billion won (USD4.5 million) to help improve the rice quality in Vietnam’s Red River delta region.

The Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Korean Rural Corporation on July 12, signed an Official Development Assistance agreement on the project to improve rice quality in the Red River delta region. 

The project will also provide training courses in both Vietnam and South Korea for agricultural and rural officials as well as farmers in the Red River delta.

Besides, the South Korea will offer technical assistance and equipment for Thai Binh Province’s Agricultural Training Centre.

 

At the signing ceremony, deputy minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Quoc Doanh said over the past years, Vietnam and South Korea have boosted co-operation in various areas, particularly agriculture.

South Korea previously supported many projects for Vietnam’s agricultural and rural sector, including Thai Binh mangrove forest and a forest plantation project in Ninh Thuan Province. Dtinews
