Homestay tourism in Sa Pa attracts visitors

In order to offload visitors in Sa Pa town and improve local people’s livelihood, Lao Cai province has focused on agro-tourism development in recent years.

The efforts have paid off as there have been more and more visitors opting for agro-tourism products and homestays in Lao Cai province.

Tourists, especially Vietnamese, have been turning into eco-tourism products for family retreats with fun and memorable experiences. Therefore, there have been more visitors choosing homestays in Lao Cai for family and friend outings by weekends.

In recent years, community tourism in Lao Cai has earned its reputation with Ta Van village gaining Homestay ASEAN awards in 2017.

Agrotourism development is a right move of Lao Cai province when implementing the National Action Programme on Building New-style Rural Areas as it not only improves locals’ livelihood but also contributes to preserve and promote distinctive cultural values of ethnic minorities within the locality.-VNA
