The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) plans to sell tickets for one-tenth of the seats at the national stadium of My Dinh in Hanoi for the game between Vietnam and Australia, in the second round of the 2022 World Cup final qualifying round.
According to VFF, about 4,000 tickets will be available for this match, scheduled on September 7.
This number of tickets is equivalent to only 1/10 of the total seats at My Dinh Stadium, to ensure the distance during the epidemic season.
Attendees may have to be vaccinated or have a negative PCR test result for Covid-19. "This is the VFF’s plan but the final decision belongs to the authorities," an official of the VFF said.
According to this official, matches of the World Cup 2022 final qualifying round will be held on the "bubble" principle at the request of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Athletes are in principle restricted to their hotels and training and competition venues as organizers try to enforce a "bubble" environment.
The Vietnamese team, the guest team, the AFC officials, the referees... will be under quarantined for only two days after entering Vietnam.
To prepare for the upcoming match, head coach of the national football team of Vietnam Park Hang Seo, his assistants - expert Choi Ju Young and goalkeeping coach Kim Hyu Tae - returned to Vietnam on July 28.
After entering the country, Mr. Park and his two assistants are under quarantine at a hotel in Hanoi. Mr. Park will not be able to gather with the Vietnamese team on August 5.
The VFF is carrying out the necessary procedures to help the U23 team and the Vietnamese national football squads so that they can group up as the initial plan. It is difficult for many members of the two teams to move from their hometowns to Hanoi due to the current situation of the pandemic.
Video assistant referee (VAR) technology will be applied for the first time in Vietnam in the national team’s upcoming matches during the final round of 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, with 33 cameras to be installed at My Dinh National Stadium.
