The amount of tickets to be sold for the game are equivalent to just one tenth of the total capacity of the stadium, with the My Dinh National Stadium capable of seating 40,000 fans. This is to ensure that social distancing measures are followed in the ongoing fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Further, supporters attending the game must be vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus or record a negative PCR test for COVID-19 beforehand.

Vietnam have been drawn in Group B of the final World Cup qualifying round, alongside Japan, Saudi Arabia, Australia, China, and Oman.

The "Golden Dragons" will begin their campaign with an away match against Saudi Arabia on September 2, followed by a match against Australia at the My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi five days later.

Head coach Park Hang-seo, assistant manager Choi Ju-young, and goalkeeping coach Kim Hyu-tae returned to the country on July 28 to prepare for both the U23’s and senior team’s training camps which are due to start on August 5.
