After inviting Korean coach Park Chung Kyun of Hanoi FC as his assistant, the head coach of Vietnam’s national football squad Park Hang Seo has invited another countryman to join the Vietnamese team to prepare for the final qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup.

That is Mr. Kim Tae Min, a data analyst currently working at Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) FC, assistant to HAGL FC’s Thai coach Kiatisuk.

Kim Tae Min went to Vietnam in 2019 and started working at the Ho Chi Minh City FC besides Korean coach Chung Hae Seong. After this expert worked for HAGL FC besides Korean coach Lee Tae Hoon and now Thai coach Kiatisuk.

Coach Park Hang Seo currently has seven Korean assistants, including Lee Young Jin, Park Chung Kyun, Kim Tae Min, Kim Han Yoon, fitness expert Park Sung Gyun, goalkeeping coach Kim Hyun Tae and doctor Choi Ju Young. He also has two other Korean assistants who work for the U23 national team.

Among these assistants, Park's right-hand man, assistant Lee Young Jin, is busy in his home country. It is unclear if he will return to Vietnam in time to join the Vietnamese team to prepare for two matches in September.

Coach Park Hang Seo plans to return to Vietnam in late July, along with goalkeeping coach Kim Hyun Tae and doctor Choi Ju Young.

The Vietnamese team will gather in mid-August, and will have two weeks to prepare for the final qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup in Asia, including a match against Saudi Arabia on September 2 and Australia on September 7.

In this round, the Vietnamese team is in Group B with Japan, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Oman and China.

Earlier, coach Park Choong Kyun of Hanoi FC worked as an assistant to coach Park Hang Seo during the time the Vietnamese national squad prepared for the third qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup.

Head coach Park Hang-seo has proposed a list of 31 players as part of the plan to prepare for the FIFA 2022 World Cup final qualifiers, said the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

Due to the highly competitiveness of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, Korean coach Park continues to pick players who have a lot of experience in international tournaments. The called players include goalkeeper Bui Tan Truong; defenders Que Ngoc Hai, Bui Tien Dung, Do Duy Manh, Nguyen Trong Hoang; midfielders Nguyen Quang Hai, Luong Xuan Truong, Nguyen Tuan Anh, Phan Van Duc, Nguyen Hoang Duc; strikers Nguyen Van Toan and Nguyen Tien Linh.

Promising young players such as defenders Le Van Xuan and Nguyen Thanh Binh, and midfielder Ly Cong Hoang Anh will also partake in the lineup.

New faces such as defender Truong Van Thiet, midfielder Le Tien Anh and striker Pham Tuan Hai are also given a chance to join the team.

As the COVID-19 pandemic has been developing complicatedly, the remaining rounds of Vietnam's professional tournaments have still been postponed so there is an adjustment in the schedule of the gathering of the national team. Accordingly, the squad will gather in Hanoi for training from August 5.

Vietnam will compete in group B of the final World Cup qualifying round with Japan, Saudi Arabia, Australia, China and Oman. The "Golden Dragons" will begin the campaign with an away match against Saudi Arabia on September 2, followed by a match against Australia at Hanoi-based My Dinh National Stadium five days later.
