While block printing on wood, rubber and plaster is very popular, Saturday’s workshop will offer attendees the chance to learn about printing techniques as well as to practice on an environmentally-friendly material that is very easy to find in Vietnam. As a soft texture, easy to cut and recycled, participants can freely create a woodblock as they wish.
The workshop will be led by visual artist Nguyen Thi Tue Thu, aka Din Sama, who graduated from Wako University in Tokyo in 2015, majoring in Printing Graphics. Thu also completed her post-graduate degree at Tokyo University of Fine Arts in 2017. Her artworks were presented at several exhibitions in Tokyo, Kyoto, Kawasaki, Chiba, London, Dublin, and Hanoi.
The free workshop, for those over 15, will take place from 2pm until 5pm. The organiser will prepare all the necessary tools for every participant. Participants will have the chance to bring home their printed artworks.
