Thua Thien-Hue Province will play host to a kite festival scheduled to take place on June 8-15 as part of a range of activities to develop the local tourism industry over the course of the summer.
This year’s week-long festival will run with the theme of “Honouring Hue kite flying art” and will be held in Tu Tuong park and Ngo Mon square.
A wide selection of cultural activities are set to take place during the festival. There will be a kite art exhibition held on June 8-12, in addition to a kite making and decoration workshop which will run on June 8-9 in Tu Tuong park.
A special music and fashion show will open the festival in Tu Tuong park at 8pm on June 8.
An artistic display of kite flying is due to transpire between 4pm and 6pm on June 8-9 in Ngo Mon square.
Other activities planned by festival organisers include folk games, kite drawing, and a kite making competition.
The annual kite flying festival of Ba Duong Noi village in Hanoi’s outlying district of Dan Phuong is held on the fifteenth day of the third lunar month.
