The fashion show held in the southern city witness a large number of celebrities in attendance.
The collection draws inspiration from both the Ao Dai, the national dress of Vietnam, and the Kimono, the national dress of Japan.
Phan Thi Mo, World Miss Tourism Ambassador 2018, is among a host of participating celebrities.
This year’s Mottainai Festival is the first time the show has been held in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The event in HCM City took place in Aeon Mall Tan Phu Celadon from September 14-15 with the theme being the Mid-Autumn Festival.
In addition to the event in HCM City, Hanoi will also host the Mottainai Festival on December 1. The event is scheduled to take place at the Ly Thai To flower garden with Christmas as the theme.
A wide range of activities are set to transpire during the Mottainai Festival, including the Mottainai Run, a Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange, an auction to raise funds for child victims of traffic accidents, and a gift fair.
The Mottainai Festival is an annual show, hosted by the Vietnamese Women newspaper with a view to helping orphans, handicapped children, and child victims of traffic accidents.
