A climate change photo competition was launched in Hanoi on July 17 by the European Union Delegation to Vietnam, the HCM Communist Youth Union, the French Development Agency and the Embassy of France in Vietnam.

Entries can be submitted individually or by group from July 22 to August 25. Each participant can submit two to five photos featuring actions, ideas or solutions relating to climate change.
There will be a first prize comprising VND10 million in cash and a bamboo bicycle, a second prize of VND5 million and a bicycle, three third prizes each including VND3 million and a bicycle, five consolation prizes worth VND2 million each, and creative and most favorite prizes worth VND2 million each.
Depending on the number of likes and shares on Facebook, the organizers will also award five weekly prizes worth VND1 million each. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place in late September.
The competition has the support of photographer Nguyen Viet Hung, also known as Lekima Hung.
Hung has traveled along 3,000 kilometers of coastline and visited 100 estuaries in 28 cities and provinces to take 3,000 photos under the themes “Save our seas” and “Act now” to call for reduction of plastic waste.
