Kemi Adekoya of Bahrain failed a recent stanozolol test and was given a four-year ban by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) as punishment, the ban was backdated to come into effect from November, 2018.

The AIU was founded by the International Association of Athletics Federations in April 2017 in order to combat doping in athletics.

Back at Asiad 2018, Kemi Adekoya had won the gold medal in the women’s 400m hurdles with a time of 54.48 sec with Quach Thi Lan grabbing the silver with a time of 55.30 sec.
