Musician Trinh Cong Son

 

 

According to Nguyen Tuan Thanh, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, the proposal has been sent to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for consideration.

Trinh Cong Son used to study at Quy Nhon University in Quy Nhon City and during that time he composed many popular songs.

The draft clay statue which is 2.4 metres high has been completed for being submitted to the ministry. The work features the musician holding a guitar besides the score of a song about beach feelings entitled “Bien Nho”.

The statue is planned to be located on a beach near Quy Nhon University.

Musician Trinh Cong Son was born in 1939 in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue. He passed away in 2001. He wrote more than 600 songs during his career. His music is still widely performed in Vietnam and in Vietnamese communities abroad.
