The Vinh Long Television (THVL)’s comedy-drama Sui Gia Khắc Khẩu (In-Law Conflict) promises to bring many laughs and a lot of joy to people during the holiday.

The 50-episode film revolves around the life of four families living in the Mekong Delta Region, highlighting love, neighbourhood and conflicts among young people and neighbours.  

It stars favourite comic actors like Meritorious Artist Hoai Linh and Hoang Son, cai luong (reformed opera) actress Thanh Hang, and young actors Luong The Thanh, Thuy Diem and Le Be La.

Xuan Phuoc, the film’s director, said: “Tet is time for family reunion. Sui Gia Khắc Khẩu will attract audiences with stories about relationship in the family and with relatives and in-laws and scenes capturing beautiful landscapes of the Mekong Delta.”

Sui Gia Khắc Khẩu will air from Monday to Saturday on THVL1 channel, beginning on February 8.

THVL1 will also introduce two new comedy series, Một Đám Cưới, Ba Nàng Dâu (One Wedding, Three Brides) and Trúng Số Ăn Tết (Jackpot) featuring love and neighbourhoods, from February 2.

Both films, with 15 episodes each, are directed by Ho Ngoc Xum.

“The films feature familiar topics of Vietnamese films during Tet in hopes of bringing joyful moments to people in a special holiday,” Xum said.

Một Đám Cưới, Ba Nàng Dâu and Trúng Số Ăn Tết will be broadcast at 12pm and 5.30pm, respectively, daily on THVL1.

Vietnam Television (VTV) will present four-part film Yêu Hơn Cả Bầu Trời (Love to the Country) about ideals and enthusiasm about national protection of four young officers from the Air Force Officer School.

It features favourite actors Binh An, Thanh Son, Quang Su and Manh Quan.

The film will air at 9:45pm daily on its channel VTV1, beginning on February 12, or Lunar New Year Day.

As usual, VTV will introduce their annual comic skit Táo Quân (Kitchen Gods) on Lunar New Year’s Eve (February 11).

The production will take a look at the top events in the year gone by, and feature renowned actors including Quoc Khanh, Xuan Bac, Cong Ly and Van Dung.

The play will be followed by a two-hour talk and music show Mùa Đoàn Tụ (Season for Union) featuring stories about the tough year of 2020 and wishes for a better future in 2021.

The programme will include the country’s leading scholars like Nguyen Lan Dung and Nguyen Lan Hieu, and singer Cam Van and composer Ho Hoai Anh’s families.

An entertaining programme Cảm Hứng Bất Tận (Endless Aspiration) will air on the first day of the Lunar New Year. It will feature songs about spring and Tet, as well as traditional music from the northern, central and southern regions.

The performers will be veteran and young singers My Linh, Tung Duong, Dinh Hien Anh and Truong Thao Nhi, along with Flame Dance Troupe and child singers from Ngoi Sao Nho Troupe.

HCM City Television (HTV) will offer a live broadcast of the opening of Flower Street and Street Book Festival on Nguyen Hue Boulevard on February 9.  VNS
