In the last group stage match on May 14, Vietnam beat Myanmar 2-1 to top group A to qualify for the next round.

Myanmar started the brighter and Zin Moe Pyae opened the scoring for Myanmar in the 18th minute, having struck the crossbar from a free-kick earlier.

After that, the Vietnamese side focused their attacks down the flanks, but were unable to equalise in the first half.

In the second period, Vietnam bounced back strongly, with Tran Nhat Lan scoring a brace to secure the 2-1 victory.

In another match of Group A, the Philippines crushed Timor-Leste 12-0 to finish as runners-up of Group A and reach to the semi-finals.

The remaining semi-finalists will be decided when the last match of Group B ends on May 17.

Vietnam were pooled with Timor-Leste, Myanmar and the Philippines in Group A of the regional youth competition while Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia, Laos and hosts Thailand are in Group B.

The semi-finals of the championship are scheduled to be held on May 19 while the final is slated for May 21.
