During the first round of the tournament, number six seed Nam took on Ray Ho, who was unseeded going into the competition.
Ray Ho progressed straight into the competition’s main rounds as he comes from the host nation.
During the first set, Nam, who rose 14 places from 414th to 400th in the ATP rankings a few days ago, was beaten 6-3 by Ray Ho, who had been ranked at 1,222nd in the ATP rankings.
The Vietnamese player was able to balance the score before ultimately losing the tie after a 7-5 defeat in the second set.
