The Vietnamese basketballers, seeded No 14, beat No 15 Thailand 17-13 before defeating No 9 South Korea 21-14 to top Group A and earn their slot in the next round.

They will face the Philippines and Turkmenistan in Pool C. The two best teams of the pool will qualify for the quarter-finals.
