Vietnamese gymnasts won two medals at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup which concluded in Mersin, Turkey on Monday.

Nguyen Doan Quynh Nam won silver medal in the floor exercise, while Vietnamese American Nguyen Tienna Katelyn took a bronze medal in the balance beam.
Vietnam’s two players are just 17 years old.
With these medals, Vietnam ranked fourth out of six countries. The hosts Turkey topped the medal tally with two golds and one silver.
According to Bui Trung Thien, head of gymnastics section of the National Sports Administration, after key players of Vietnam’s gymnastics including Do Thi Ngan Thuong and Nguyen Thi Ha Thanh retired, now Vietnam’s female gymnastics has a new talent generation.
Nam and Nguyen are golden hopes of Vietnam in the upcoming Southeast Asian Games to be held in the Philippines later this year.
Nguyen has become a naturalised Vietnamese citizen to take part in the international events in Vietnam jersey.
