Vietnamese photographer wins The Nature Conservancy contest first prize

A photo titled “Dance in the Sea” by Vietnam's Le Van Vinh has been awarded the first prize in the “people in nature” category at the Nature Conservancy’s global photo contest this year.

Vinh’s photo depicts fisherman casting their fishing nets in Hon Yen island of Phu Yen province. Vinh has previous experience in winning photo contests having been awarded the first prize during the AGORA Images Beauty competition in July.

In total, the contest attracted 21,774 entries with the participation of photographers from 152 countries worldwide. This image of a California sea lion captured by Tyler Schiffman from the US won the grand prize.
