Paintings feature the buffalo – zodiac sign for 2021

Danang Fine Arts Museum,

Showcasing 30 oil and acrylic pictures created by painter Ngo Thanh Hung, depicting the buffalo in the Vietnamese culture as an industrious, smart, strong, and brave animal via bright colours and unique painting techniques.

The buffalo is the second animal sign in the 12-year cycle of the Vietnamese zodiac and also a symbol of the wet rice civilisation in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam.

An art exhibition themed “Spring of the nation” will be organised at the Vietnam National Fine Art Museum in Hanoi to celebrate the 13th National Party Congress, the 91st founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet).

The exhibition introduces 36 sculpture works by 29 authors of different generations, featuring the Party, as well as sentiments of the people and armed forces’ sentiments towards President Ho Chi Minh.

The event also highlights the beauty and atmosphere of Spring in different localities across the nation.

According to a representative from the Vietnam National Fine Art Museum, the works displayed at the exhibition is a link of many generations of sculptors, giving a wish for a happy New Year to visitors.

The exhibition runs until the end of February./.

An exhibition entitled Sac Mau - Nhung Manh Ghep (The Pieces of Colours) showing some 40 paintings by To Do Huong Giang, Nguyen Van Duy, Vu Do Tuan Duy, Nguyen Trung Hieu, Pham Quang Huy and Nguyen Danh Lam.

The artists, who are aged from 13 to 22 years old and have autism, have learned to paint at a charity painting class run by artist Luong Giang.

An online exhibition, the "Skilled Hands, Shared Culture" featuring 20 contemporary Vietnamese and Australian designers, artists and artisans whose work contributes to supporting vibrant and sustainable communities.

The Vietnamese artists joining the exhibition comprise Le Giang, Nguyen Tan Phat, Nguyen Thi Dung, Nguyen Van Loi, Pham Thi Ngoc Tram, Vu Kim Thu and Van Ngo Trong, while their Australian counterparts consist of Claire Tracey, Grace Lilian Lee, Lindy de Wijn, Michelle Hamer, Muhubo Salieman, Slow Art Collective, Vermin, Vicki Couzens, Vipoo Srivilasa, Yu Fang Chi and Kieren Karritpul.

From the very beginning of new year 2021 The Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam will organize for the first time ever the exhibition of “Traditional Japanese Dolls” at Ho Chi Minh City Fines Art Museum.

This exhibition features 32 traditional dolls depicting the gracefulness of Japanese ladies in kimono, popular characters in Japanese Noh and Kabuki plays, babies, children, teenagers royal dolls and clay dolls.
