The team will take the six-hour flight to Seogwipo city in the southern island of Jeju and are scheduled to arrive around 6am on January 31 according to Vietnamese time.

Ahead of the team’s departure, head coach Mai Duc Chung has named the final list of 23 players who will compete in the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympics qualifiers.

Among the players to miss out is talented 25-year-old Chuong Thi Kieu who has been unable to recover from a knee injury.

In total, the team are set to spend five days taking part in training exercises ahead of their crunch tie with Myanmar in their first match of the qualification round on February 6.

Vietnam have been drawn in Group A alongside Myanmar and the host of the qualifiers, the RoK. If the national team are able to clinch at least second place in their group, they will successfully progress to the final qualification round for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. VOV
