The Hue Festival 2020 will open on August 28 this year instead of early April as previously planned due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the festival organising board said on February 20.

The highly anticipated Hue Festival 2020 will be postponed due to the spread of fatal novel coronavirus (Covid-19), according to Thua Thien Hue Province’s People’s Committee.

The Hue Festival is slated to be held in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue on April 1-6 and is set to promote Hue and Vietnam’s cultural values.

Hue Festival 2020 will be another chance for tourists to explore Hue – a city full of attractions, said city leaders, who will host the international festival between April 1 and 6 next year.

The organising board of the Hue Festival 2020 on December 3 signed a sponsorship deal worth 8 billion VND (345,439 USD) with Carlsberg Vietnam Co., Ltd – the platinum sponsor of the festival.

The stylised images of four holy beasts in imperial arts, namely dragon, unicorn, turtle and phoenix, will appear on all media products at the Hue Festival 2020 as the identity for the event, organisers have announced.
