American and Canadian lobsters and king crabs have become the choice of many Vietnamese people, who want to enjoy high-end products but cannot afford local prices.

 "Lobster is one of those rare foods that you cook from a live state," the recipe says. "Quickly plunge lobsters head-first into the boiling water... Boil for 15 minutes," the recipe then instructs.

Eating American lobsters is now in vogue in Vietnam. They cannot be found at traditional markets and must be bought from online shops and shops specializing in distributing luxury imports. 

Many fishermen in the central province of Khánh Hoà are becoming prosperous by catching and selling young lobsters to breeding farms.
