Hanoi historic flag raising ceremony 65 years ago

Hanoi first flag salute ceremony was held on October 10, 1954 when the city had been liberated from the French. The day has become a historical milestone for the capital.

Preparations made at Cot Co Stadium for the ceremony

The ceremony started at 3 pm on October 10, 1954 

Major General Vuong Thua Vu read a message from President Ho Chi Minh sent to the people of Hanoi.
