A number of restaurants have closed in Hanoi due to a virus outbreak.
On the morning of March 15, many shops and restaurants didn't open along the food street in Cau Giay District. At a restaurant on Nguyen Phong Sac Street, a restaurant guard showed the customers the closed notice. A popular cafe shop on To Hieu Street was also closed.
Hieu, a shipper in Cau Giay, said, "As the outbreak is still on-going, I received just a few orders a day. Sometimes I received orders from the customers but the restaurants were already closed."
He went on to say that he used to receive 25-30 orders a day before but now it would be good to just earn enough to pay for petrol and food.
Nguyen Thi Huong, a restaurant owner on To Hieu, said she decided to temporarily close the restaurant until the situation improved. To Hieu Street with various restaurants is now nearly deserted.
