According to Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu, vice chairwoman of the district's People's Committee, most of the South Korean live in Phu My Hung residential area and Tan Phong Ward.

There are hundreds of shops and companies with South Korean names in the area and are largely deserted.

Cafes see just a few customers.

Hieu added that District 7 has a South Korean school with 54 teachers, 1,905 students. The locality has also 126 South Korean-invested companies.

Despite the discount of up to 50%, South Korean fashion shops in District 7 fail to attract customers

The same situation is seen at streets such as Vo Nguyen Giap, Yen Bai and Tran Phu in Danang which previously saw lots of South Korean visitors.
