Images showcasing the nation’s landscape in Quang Ngai, Lam Dong, and Cao Bang provinces have been listed among the world’s 50 most stunning nature photos by the Agora Awards 2020.
Agora is a free photography app which received over 11,000 submissions for its Nature 2020 competition with the aim of highlighting unique images of animals and landscapes which have been snapped globally. Here's a look at some of the notable photos that made the competition's 50 finalists with an image titled "Nipa palm forest" taken by local photographer Luong Nguyen Anh Trung in Quang Ngai province. Trung snapped this aerial shot of a person crouched amid leafy trees.
"Early fog" is a photo taken by Cao Ky Nhan. Nhan told Agora that he trekked through several "difficult roads" in Lam Dong province in order to get the perfect view to snap this epic image.
"Waterfall Paradise" by Mica Veras Dos Santos. The waterfall captured by Santos can be found situated in the north of the country in Cao Bang province.
"The leader" was snapped by Pham Huy Trung when he noticed these gannets sitting atop a rock formation in Muriwai, New Zealand, with one solo bird taking off at the head of the flock.
"Being one with nature" taken by Alvaro Valiente. In order to capture this image, Valiente walked barefoot through a river before hiking up a hill on São Miguel island in Portugal.
"Lightnings" photographed by Swe Tun. According to Tun, the purple colour captured in this image marks the first time he was able to capture lightning on camera. He snapped the photo in Hpa-An, Myanmar.
"Follow the tracks" photographed by Alan Heisen Gallo. Gallo's nominated image displays a fox as its trudges through snowy conditions in Rausu, Japan.
"Nature in darkness" photographed by Caro Rovira. This captivating shot was taken by Rovira in Parc Natural dels Ports in Spain.
"Colorful Nature" photographed by Aliawais. This aerial image of trees situated beside a lake appears like a scene taken straight from a Disney movie. Despite its epic display of nature, the photo was actually taken in Lahore, Pakistan.
"Living in a Giants World" was captured by Kent Sampson. Sampson's nominated image was shot in a quiet area of Sequoia National Park in California. He told Agora that due to the area’s tall trees being difficult to photograph as a result of their size, showing their true height in perspective is necessary.
