Defence cooperation has helped enhance links in other fields, thus reinforcing solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the countries, he noted.

Hun Manet affirmed that defence cooperation is an important aspect, and leaders of the two countries and militaries have paid attention to promoting the partnership.

He expressed his belief that the sound relations between the two militaries will continue to be intensified, thus contributing to the all-round cooperation, along with political stability and development in each country.

Earlier, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Lt. Gen. Nguyen Tan Cuong had talks with the Cambodian officer.

The two sides applauded the outcomes of cooperation between the Royal Cambodian Army High Command and units of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence, which have helped maintain border security and order and prevent cross-border crimes.

They agreed to boost substantive cooperation in personnel training, information exchange, and experience sharing in the time ahead. –VNA
