Many trees poisoned in Dak Nong

On October 11, Dak Nong People's Committee announced that they had received a directive from the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asking them to report about the forest poisoning.

A large section of the protection forest along the National Highway 14 and 28 in Dak Nong has been severely poisoned. The forest has been poisoned for years. Tens of hectares of pine forest were drilled and poured poison in. Sometimes, poisoned nails were found inside the trees. After a while, the trees would look like they died because of natural causes.

According to the authorities, thousands of pine trees that are 30-40 years old have been poisoned. The poisoned area is a prime location.

After receiving the information, the prime minister has asked Dak Nong authorities to compile a report on the case.

Dak Nong People's Committee said they had asked agencies including the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to verify the damage and find solutions to save the trees by October 18.

Dak Nong Police was also asked to work with district police to investigate the case and find the culprit. Dtinews
