According to the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, from August 23, vaccinations will be offered by mobile vaccination teams in the "red zone" and "orange zone" in Thu Duc City, District 8, District 12, Go Vap District, Binh Tan District, Binh Thanh District, Binh Chanh, and Hoc Mon.

The vaccination sites will be set up inside or very near the isolated areas and households will be vaccinated one by one. Vaccinations can be held in the evening.

According to the HCM City Department of Health, 93,366 people were vaccinated on August 21, raising the total vaccinated people to 5,385,064, including 183,832 people with two doses. All of them were safe.

Deputy Director of the Department of Health Nguyen Hoai Nam said that by August 21, more than 75% of people over 18 years old in HCM City had been vaccinated.

Vaccinations will be accelerated in the coming days in order to reach the goal of at least 90% of people over 18 years old receiving the first dose and 15% with the second dose by September 15.

Previously, the Health Department asked Thu Duc City, districts and the HCM City Center for Disease Control to urgently give vaccinations for people 65 and over.

The Department of Health assigned the HCM City Center for Disease Control to allocate more than 146,000 doses of vaccine to localities for people 65 and over.
