At the propaganda session, attendants and students were informed of the recent situation of political security and safety of sea and islands; the position, role and importance of the sea and islands of Vietnam; the need to promulgate and the basic issues of the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard in 2018.

The task force also provided some basic information on how to recognize and prevent the harms of drugs to the community. The propaganda session aimed to raising awareness, responsibilities, rights and obligations of staff, teachers, students and people towards the cause of management and protection of sea and islands of the country in the new situation; calling people for joining the Coast Guard to build the image of Vietnam as a peace-loving country, a coastal country, a member of the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, a responsible state that strictly implements international commitment and willingness to respond to common challenges with the international community towards the goal of maintaining the sea of stability, integration and development.

The propaganda team also distributed over 200 leaflets of all kinds; presented 20 gifts and 400 boxes of milk to disadvantaged students at Gia Luan Primary and Secondary School, Cat Hai district with a total value of nearly VND10 million.

This is an activity aimed at raising awareness of officials, teachers and students in Cat Hai island district about sovereignty and security of the country’s sea and island; bringing the content of propaganda and dissemination of the Law on Coast Guard to schools; implementing the Directive of the High Command of Coast Guard on deploying the month to attack and suppress drug-related crime.
