In the past few days, many families with little kids have travelled over 1,000 kilometers by motorbike from pandemic-hit areas in the south to their hometowns in the north.

Mr. Sang A Phao’s family also joined these people. Phao, his wife and his baby left the southern province of Dong Nai on October 4 and arrived in Hanoi on the afternoon of October 7. This family then left Hanoi to the northern province of Lao Cai – their hometown.

Phao told VietNamNet that due to the prolonged Covid-19 epidemic, he and his wife had lost their job so they could not survive in Dong Nai anymore. The couple decided to come back to Lao Cai to look for a job.

Calling at the Covid-19 epidemic checkpoint at the Gie bridge, Hanoi, to complete the procedures to go through the capital city, Ms. Giang Thi Trinh gave her 1-month-old baby the breast.

Like many other families, she and her husband, Mr. Hau A Sinh (from the northern province of Yen Bai), had to decide to take their two children from the southern province of Binh Duong back to Yen Bai on October 4, by motorbike. The couple has two children of 34 and one months old. They both have lost their jobs.

Another couple - Mr. Giang A Sen and his wife – Giang Thi Phan – left Dong Nai on October 4 to return home to the northern mountainous province of Dien Bien with their 2-month-old daughter by motorbike. They are in the similar circumstance with other families.

Mr. Le Van Tien and his wife Ly Mui Nhat are on their way back home in the northern mountainous province of Son La from the southern province of Binh Duong, one of the country’s largest epidemic centers.

Vang Thi Dong and her son are on the way to Son La Province on a truck. This trip was sponsored by the authorities.

Song A Sanh and his family moved from the northern mountainous province of Son La to Binh Duong in March 2021. As the Covid-19 epidemic broke out, his woodwork company closed. Sanh and his wife decided to return to their hometown.

Thao Thi Luu and her daughter Sam Thi Hoa (14 months old) started their journey from Binh Duong to Son La on October 4. By October 7 afternoon, they arrived in Hanoi. It would take them one more day to go home.
