Truong The Dieu from the Vietnam Training Academy of DENSO Vietnam Co.,Ltd, brought home the silver medal in Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) Milling. This is the highest achievement of Vietnam after seven times entering the tournament.

Eight other Vietnamese competitors received awards for excellence.

Vietnam ranked 25 among 63 countries and territories at the competition this year and had 19 competitors competing in 18 skills.

In previous years, the highest result Vietnam achieved was winning two bronze medals.

The WorldSkills Kazan 2019 was held for the first time in Russia from August 22-27.

More than 1,300 contestants competed in 56 skill competitions across six skills sectors: Construction and Building Technology, Creative Arts and Fashion, Information and Communication Technology, Manufacturing and Engineering Technology, Social and Personal Services, Transportation and Logistics.

The WorldSkills is held every two years around the world. China will host the next competition in 2021-VNA

The 45th World Skills Competition will begin on August 16 in Kazan, Russia, where Vietnamese contestants will show off their vocational skills in 19 professions with the goal of earning as many medals as possible.
