Visitors to a bamboo homestay in My Tho city, Tien Giang province are able to enjoy a variety of fruit at orchards with an overnight tour costing only VND200,000.
The homestay is located in Thoi Son commune in My Tho city. It came into operation two months ago and has so far enticed visitors with its longan and mangosteen gardens
Nguyen Trung Dong, the owner of the homestay, says it takes him close to a year to complete the construction of the homestay with bamboo leaves, pine, and water coconut timber.
The price of a single room is only VND200,000 per night. Bedrooms have been designed in a simple manner while the green gardens of the homestay help guests get closer to nature
The rooms are directly connected to the homestay’s gardens and fish breeding ponds
A variety of vegetables are also grown in the homestay’s gardens and are used in meals for visitors. The price of lunch or dinner is VND100,000 per person, including three or four dishes and desserts. Travelers are also able to order a variety of local delicious dishes whilst at the homestay
Visitors are able to pay more in order to enjoy different kinds of fruit from the orchards
Many activities are on offer to tourists such as a visit to the local fruit orchards, a bike ride around the village, and fishing. Furthermore, visitors can also visit bee farms, sample a cup of tea with honey, enjoy a performance of the ‘don ca tai tu’ art form, a type of southern amateur singing, and visit Vinh Trang pagoda or other nearby destinations.
