A flight carrying 250 Korean visitors is expected to land at Phu Quoc Airport on November 20.

Budget carrier VietJet Air has sent a proposal to the Kien Giang provincial People’s Committee and the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism for approval.

VietJet Air said all the Korean visitors have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and they are set to stay at Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc.

If granted approval, the Incheon-Phu Quoc flight will land at Phu Quoc International Airport on November 20 and depart three days later.

Visitors will all be required to install the IGOVN and PC-COVID mobile apps on their phones and use them throughout their stay in Phu Quoc.

Some of the tourist attractions set to open include VinWonder Amusement Park, Safari, and GrandWorld.

According to Pham Van Nghiep, vice chairman of the Phu Quoc Island District, the locality has prepared a range of plans regarding pandemic safety in order to welcome back visitors through the vaccine passport programme.

At least 90% of the population and workers in Phu Quoc must be fully vaccinated in order to be ready to welcome the return of international guests in the future.

The return of international tourists will serve to help the local tourism industry rebound following a long period of being heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
