The Taj Mahal is a popular tourist destination in India. VNAT has warned Vietnamese residents against taking trips to India due to bomb threats from Jaish-e-Mohammad

The warning was quickly issued after VNAT received an announcement from the local foreign affairs agency noting that Jaish-e-Mohammad had threatened to attack India with bombs placed at railway stations, bus stops and military bases in the states of Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh on May 13.

VNAT advised travel firms and tour operators to reconsider arranging tours to India at this time. Further, Vietnamese tourists who are going on tours in India were also advised to stay away from crowded places and to closely follow updates by local authorities to ensure their safety.

VNAT also reminded tourists of the citizen protection hotline manned by the Vietnamese embassy in India at 919971257204 and the citizen protection hotline at 84 981848484.

Since the beginning of 2019, Vietnam’s tourism officials have repeatedly warned tourists against travelling to Sri Lanka and Algeria for safety reasons. GT
