Cheated tourists gather in front of the headquarters of Golux Advertising Services and Trading Co., Ltd, which has been charged with swindling more than 60 tourists of VND4.6 billion

Last year, more than 60 tourists complained that Golux, headquartered at 85 Nguven Huu Cau Street in District 1, had taken their money but did not organize the purchased tours.

According to HCMC police, Vo Anh Kiet had posed as Huynh Nguyen Truong Duy, director of Golux, to set up a website to introduce international tours. He had also advertised his company’s tours on Facebook and YouTube.

Investigators from the HCMC Department of Tourism confirmed that Golux was not licensed to arrange outbound tours.

The department had fined the company VND45 million for illegally offering outbound tours and suspended its operations until it obtained the necessary license. However, Golux continued selling tours and swindling dozens of victims.

In addition, the company’s website, Golux.vn, remains accessible, even though investigators from the municipal Department of Tourism had earlier asked the Department of Information and Communications to shut down the website. SGT
