The 2020 Golden Kite Awards have been postponed for the second time because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the physical distancing measures introduced nationwide, according to the Vietnam Cinematography Association.

Sixteen feature films have been nominated for the annual 2019 Golden Lotus awards festival organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province.  

 A Vietnamese film on childhood titled Toi Thay Hoa Vang Tren Co Xanh (I See Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass) has won Best Film at the TFF Kids International Film Festival 2016.

The movie "Jackpot", based on the true story of Lanh, a lottery ticket seller in the southern province of Dong Thap, was granted the ‘Vietnamese Oscar’ Golden Kite award for feature movie at a glittery award ceremony last night in Hanoi.

 The YDA Club, a cinema club dedicated to Vietnamese movies in Paris’ District 5, will present three short movies by Vietnamese independent filmmakers on April 16.

 Director Nguyen Hoang Diep, who won three awards at the Fribourg International Film Festival last year, has become a jury member for the event this year.
