The statement was made by FPT Vice Chairman Bui Quang Ngoc at a meeting with Da Nang’s leaders in the locality on Friday.

Da Nang is currently one of the three most important human resource centres for FPT, with more than 3,000 software engineers, accounting for 20 per cent of FPT's total employees working in software production, achieving an average human resource growth rate of 40 per cent per year.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Party Committee of Da Nang City Truong Quang Nghia said Da Nang has high demand for human resources. FPT’s focus on investment in software exports and education for high quality human resources is in line with the development orientation of the city.

Da Nang expects that FPT will continue to accompany the city in building high quality human resources, quickly sharing experiences and proposing the development of IT systems for transportation and healthcare in order to turn Da Nang into a smart city, Nghia added.

In the next three to five years, FPT plans to invest about VND2.6 trillion (US$111.59 million) in facilities for software export, education and training, and telecommunications.

Besides focusing on investment in resources, FPT will also expand investment in infrastructure development in Da Nang City. In the 2019-21 period, FPT plans to continue investing nearly VND1.2 trillion for the synchronous infrastructure of FPT City Urban Area. — VNS
