According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the country's exports of agricultural, forestry and fishery products increased sharply in the January-July period, obtaining 28.6 billion USD in total revenue, up 26.7% year on year. In July alone, export of agricultural products brought in 4.2 billion USD for Vietnam.

In the past seven months, export revenue of main agricultural products reached 12.2 billion USD, up 15% year on year; main forest products about 10.2 billion USD, up 54%; seafood over 4.9 billion USD, up 12%; livestock production $254 million, up 16%.

The export prices of many key commodity groups of the agricultural sector rose sharply. For example, the pepper price increased by 51.8% to nearly 3,293 USD/ton; rubber 30%, to 1,677 USD/ton, and rice 11.2%.

The largest export market during this time is the US with over 8.2 billion USD, accounting for 28.9% market share. The second is China with nearly 5.5 billion USD, equivalent to 19.2%, followed by Japan and Korea with 6.8% and 4.8%, respectively.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has established a working group to direct production and connection of supply and demand for agricultural products in the southern provinces, to avoid disruption of the production chain during the time of pandemic.

The Ministry will closely coordinate with Vietnam's commercial counselors abroad to support Vietnamese provinces and enterprises to export qualified agricultural products to the EU, UK, China and Japan.
