Bac Kim Thang is the only Vietnamese horror movie that will be shown during the ongoing festival.
The film, directed by Tran Huu Tan, tells the story of a young man who believes his house is haunted after spending six months in hospital.
This comes after his cousin commits suicide while listening to Bac Kim Thang, a local folk song.
The film features Meritorious Artist Phi Dieu and veteran actor Trung Dan, along with young artists Minh Hy and Trinh Tai.
In addition to Bac Kim Thang, four other Vietnamese movies will also be screened at the event, namely Bo Gia (Dad, I'm Sorry), Tiec Trang Mau (Blood Moon Party), and Rom.
This year the event will involve the participation of 28 feature films and two short films from 11 Aisan countries, including Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and Vietnam.
