Originally, the tournament had been scheduled to get underway between February 26 and March 8 in Turkmenistan.
However, due to the serious concerns surrounding the ongoing COVID-19 situation the AFC have taken the decision to change the date of the Asian tournament to August 5-16.
Whilst the date change has been confirmed, the AFC are also considering each participating nation as a potential new host for the tournament, including Vietnam.
In total, the AFC Futsal Championship 2020 is made up of 16 teams divided into four groups. Vietnam have been drawn in Group A, alongside Tajikistan, Oman, and host nation Turkmenistan.
