Miss Vietnam 2018 Tran Tieu Vy

The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has granted approval to Tienphong (Vanguard) newspaper to host the event, whilst they have requested that the newspaper follow regulations relating to art performances, fashion shows, beauty pageants, and model contests.

First held in 1988, the Miss Vietnam pageant is a biannual national beauty contest which has been ran by Tienphong newspaper since its inception.

The pageant’s winner will go on to represent Vietnam in international beauty contests such as Miss World, Miss Grand International, and Miss International.

In the contest’s previous versions, Do My Linh and Tran Tieu Vy were crowned as Miss Vietnam 2016 and 2018, respectively.

On the global stage, the contestants have also achieved success in recent years. During Miss World 2017 My Linh was named among the pageant’s Top 40, finishing first in the Beauty with a Purpose segment.

The following year, Vietnamese representative Tieu Vy was among the Top 5 in the Beauty with a Purpose segment, going on to finish in the pageant’s Top 30. VOV
