Hoi An City’s Culture and Sports centre said the annual event will be held on the Hoai River and the Old Quarter with various cultural performances, cuisine and traditional arts and folk game exchanges among Korean and Hoi An artists.

Vietnamese love songs, Jinju Arirang will debut during the opening ceremony at An Hoi Park at 7.30pm on Saturday.

J-Morning band, who played at the Pyeongchang Olympics in 2018, Korea, will also treat viewers with B-Boy M.B Crew band during the two-day cultural exchange.

Visitors can visit and enjoy pavilions displaying Korean culture at the An Hoi Sculpture Park from 2pm on Saturday, just a few hours before opening ceremony of the event.

Hoi An’s crafts and Korean food, calligraphy, kimchi tasting and lantern installations, as well as hanbok try-on will be displayed at the park through Sunday.

The UNESCO-recognised world heritage Hoi An and the International Mask Arts & Culture Organisation and Andong City, Korea inked an agreement in promoting cultural exchanges, exhibitions and friendship visits from 2017.

Different Korean art troupes including the art troupe of Hahoe Folk village, a UNESCO-recognised world heritage site in Gyeongsangbuk; the World Music Assemble One, RAAK, Sachoom, Bibap Bang A Tha Ryeong had visited Hoi An for annual joint-performance.

Hoi An hosted nearly 5 million tourists in 2018, of which 50 per cent were foreigners.
