Italian acapella band Mezzotono - PHOTO: COURTESY OF ORGANIZER

Brought to the city by Amberstone Media and the Italian Consulate General in HCMC, the Mezzotono: “Mad in Italy” Vietnam Tour 2019 concert is set to be a funny Italian space of music and culture that will delight audiences of all ages.

Mezzotono consists of five members: Luigi Nardiello, Fabio Lepore, Daniela Desideri, Tanya Pugliese, and Alessandro Gnolfo. The members all possess high levels of musical expertise, having graduated from the national conservatory and currently teaching choirs at international universities.

Although they have different musical nuances, they perform completely with the technique of “acapella”, which means creating sound and music without using any musical instruments, only the human voice itself.

The band has an impressive performance record that spans more than 50 countries across five continents, making them the Italian vocal group with most appearances abroad.

Mezzotono has recently attracted the attention of many music lovers all over the world through their mash-up video of the famous record Mambo Italiano and the Korean mega hit Gangnam Style filmed in different famous attractions worldwide such as the Statue of Liberty in the U.S., the Red Square in Russia, and Atacama Desert in Chile.

In their upcoming show in HCMC, Mezzotono will perform popular Italian songs such as Mambo Italiano, Quando quando, and La Città di Pulcinella, as well as their signature songs including Balletto Barese, Siv siv siv, and Cime di Rape.

Delicious Italian cuisine such as Porchetta sandwich, pasta, beer and soft drinks will be served before the show on the occasion of Italian Cuisine Week.

“Mezzotono means half-tone, this is a purely music-related name, and can immediately remind the audience of music, which is the mutual passion of all five members,” said Mezzotono.

“We have had the opportunity to visit your beautiful country and performed in Hanoi in 2014, and we love the warmth and enthusiasm of the Vietnamese audience. This time coming back for our very first performance in HCMC, we are super excited and eager to meet new audiences and enjoy new Vietnamese dishes in the city. Moreover, we will also give the audience a short performance of Ho Tren Nui – an amazing Vietnamese folk song, recreated in the Acapella style.”

Tickets cost VND250,000 per person, with a special prize of VND150,000 for students. For further information or ticket booking, visit https://concert.dreamspass.vn/mezzotono/.
