Tickets sold out for Vietnam-Thailand World Cup qualifier match

Thailand started selling online tickets for Vietnamese fans on Thai Ticket Major website at 10 am on August 19.

According to FIFA rules, only 8% of the total seats in the stadium should be allocated to the away fans.

Since the match will be played at the Thammasat Stadium in Pathum Thani which has a seating capacity of only 25,000, Vietnamese fans will have only 2,244 seats.

In order to buy the tickets, the customers must submit their passport image. Each passport can buy a maximum of four tickets.

The fans must bring their passports to exchange the tickets at the stadium.

The ticket price for Vietnamese fans is 650 Thai Baht (USD21), higher than the 200-500 Thai Baht tickets for Thai fans. Vietnamese fans must also pay 3% additional fees.

Despite the higher prices, the tickets were quickly sold out. 2,240 tickets were sold in five minutes.

About 20,000 tickets sold to Thai fans were also quickly sold out in 15 minutes.

Thai player Chanathip Songkrasin said he was confident that Thailand would advance further. Their aim is to top the group-stage matches.

Chanathip Songkrasin said he wanted to win every match in this round.
