Information regarding pre-tournament preparations was given during a meeting held in Ho Chi Minh City on January 31 between the team and the Vietnam Football Federation following the Lunar New Year.

According to Giang, the team are to make every effort to achieve a positive result at the AFC tournament.

Ahead of the competition the Vietnamese futsal team are to undergo a training camp in Spain on February 9 before head coach Giang announces the final squad before departing to Turkmenistan for the 2020 AFC Futsal Championship finals on February 19.

In total, the tournament will be made up of 16 teams with all of fixtures held in Turkmenistan between February 26 and March 8.

At the competition, Vietnam have been drawn in the same group as Tajikistan, Oman, and host nation Turkmenistan.

The team’s first tie will be against Tajikistan on February 26, followed by a match against Oman on February 28, before the final group game against Turkmenistan on March 1. All of the national futsal team’s fixtures will be played at the Main Indoor Arena in Turkmenistan. VOV
