The information was revealed by Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet at a meeting yesterday to discuss the schedule for school reopening and welcoming back foreign tourists to Vietnam.

According to Viet, most of the foreign travelers came from Russia, South Korea, Singapore and some from the UK and the US.

"The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recommends reopening tourism activities according to the roadmap. The Ministry will keep the roadmap for reopening tourism activities in the coming holiday from April 30 to May 1, but if we do well, we can open earlier," said Viet.

Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son noted that coordination is needed to control the disease, especially for international tourists.

The Ministry of Health has issued Decision 5772/QD-BYT on the issuance of "vaccine passports". However, it is necessary to have the participation of ministries and agencies such as the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Most of the attendees were in favor of reopening tourism as well as sending children back to school, but also suggested that the Ministry of Health should issue new guidelines on determining the level of the epidemic so that localities can take countermeasures.
