"This is an issue that some National Assembly deputies have proposed in this session. It is recommended that the Government, particularly the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City and other localities to organize the memorial ceremony," he said.

The National Assembly Chairman commented on the first day of the question-and-answer session (November 10) when cabinet members including Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam, Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Public Security To Lam, Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc, and Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung answer questioned raised by National Assembly deputies.

The National Assembly Chairman said the Q&A session focused and clarified basic issues. Specifically, the Covid-19 epidemic, especially the fourth outbreak from April 27, has seriously affected production, business, livelihoods, jobs and the lives of people and businesses. During this wave, over 1.3 million people left Ho Chi Minh City and the southern key economic zone to return to their hometowns.

He asked the Government and its members to evaluate the causes so as to have comprehensive solutions to restore and develop the labor market.

The National Assembly Chairman also asked the Government to accelerate support packages and create favorable conditions for people to have convenient and fast access to the package.

He noted another important issue: strengthening the protection of children's rights, especially social protection for orphans by Covid-19.

He asked the Government to improve the effectiveness of state management over social assistance and charity work.

He said the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs should focus on solving pressing issues such as reforming the vocational education system, policies on social protection, pension policy for people who retired before 1995, and the national program on sustainable poverty reduction.
