Organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Central Committee and the Vietnam Youth Talent Fund, the event was attended by Standing member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat Vo Van Thuong; Deputy Head of the Central Party Committee’s Internal Affairs Commission Nguyen Thai Hoc; Deputy Chief of the Party Central Committee’s Office Nguyen Dac Vinh, Vice Head of the Department of Propaganda and Training under the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army - Major General Nguyen Thanh Phong; First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Nguyen Anh Tuan and other officals and representatives of many state agencies and organizations.

At the ceremony, the organizing board presented certificates of merit to 10 outstanding young Vietnamese and 10 promising young faces of 2020.

The 10 outstanding Vietnamese young persons 2020 include: Bui Hong Duc (the field of study); Doan Le Hoang Tan (creative research); Tran Anh Tu (working and production); Major Tran Viet Hai (national defence); Captain Nguyen Trung Duc (security and order); Nguyen Van Quyet (sports and physical training); Pham Ngoc Anh Tung (start-up business); Vo Minh Quang (culture and arts); and Hoang Tuan Anh, Ha Anh Phuong (social activities).

The 10 promising Vietnamese young persons 2020 include: Ngo Quy Dang (the field of study); Captain Vu Trong Dai (creative research); Bui Thanh Nghi (working and production); Senior Lieutenant Le Van Thua (national defence); Sergeant Tong VanDong (security and order); Nguyen Van Duong (sports and physical training); Nghiem Tien Vien (start-up business); and Hoang Thi Yen and Ninh Duc Hoang Long (culture and arts).

Mr. Vo Van Thuong, member of the Politburo, standing member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat, and the first secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union's Central Committee Nguyen Anh Tuan present certificates of merit to ten outstanding Vietnamese persons in 2020.

Mr. Vo Van Thuong, member of the Politburo, standing member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat, congratulated the young people who were honored this time. He said that, in 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic and natural disasters severely affected the country. In that context, the Vietnamese youth continued to show good qualities, and upheld the spirit of volunteering. Stories about outstanding and promising young people in 2020 were emotional and meaningful.

"You were present on all fronts with the spirit of being present at any place where you were needed and were willing to do difficult tasks. Your achievements, contributions to the country, to the community will be honored and will be strongly spread in society," Mr. Thuong said.

He also said that Party organizations and the authorities at all levels, unions, the whole society and each family need to pay attention to training, fostering and creating the best conditions for young talents in particular and young people in general to affirm their talents, to dedicate their youth and wisdom to the development of their country.
