As of 6 am on August 2, the Ministry of Health announced a total of 97,076 Covid-19 cases in HCM City.
The city is treating 34,438 patients, including 924 critically ill cases who need ventilators and eight patients undergoing ECMO intervention. During the day, 170 more deaths were recorded.
According to the HCM City Center for Disease Control, in the past two days, the city had no new outbreaks. There are 29 active outbreak clusters in the city. Local forces are trying to trace, localize and control the infection chains.
Also, the city has 43,767 people under quarantine, including 6,175 people at quarantine centers and 37,179 people under home quarantine. There are 4,801 F1 (close contacts of Covid-19 patients) under home quarantine under the Ministry of Health’s instruction.
HCM City has provided support for workers affected by the epidemic according to Resolution 09 of the HCM City People’s Council and Resolution 68 of the Government. As of August 1, more than 365,000 workers, business households and traders at the city's wet markets have benefited from this support package. At the same time, the city is counting the number of affected self-employed workers who are not subjects supported under Resolution 09 in order to give support to them.
According to the HCM City Center for Disease Control, the epidemic situation in the city has made positive changes, partly thanks to the cooperation of people through self-management and green zone protection models. To keep reducing the number of cases and expand the green zones, each citizen should follow the epidemic prevention and control regulations, the 5K recommendation of the Ministry of Health, and minimize human-to-human contact. In addition, the health sector continues to accelerate vaccinations to quickly cover the whole city.
